Nadal pulls out of the French Open

Wow, this sucks. Rafael Nadal pulled out of the French Open with a wrist injury. I had relatively high hopes for Rafa. Not only did he have a solid showing during the claycourt season, winning Barcelona and Madrid, but he also won his first two matches pretty easily, showing the form that allowed him to win 9 trophies at Roland Garros. His most recent battle with Novak Djokovic was also the closest match the two have played against each other in a long time, and that had to have been good for Nadal's confidence.

Alas, the dream, at least for this year, has ended. Nadal announced that he was pulling out of the tournament. I wish him a speedy recovery and I hope he gets back to full health in time for Wimbledon and the Olympics.
