Incredibly sad news as 2014 was about to close: AirAsia flight QZ8501 traveling from Indonesia to Singapore last December 28 crashed into the Java Sea. The plane was missing for a couple of days before debris was spotted. Shortly after that, search and rescue efforts were deployed and they have slowly started to retrieve bodies of crash victims from the water.
2014 was not a good year for air travel. I hope that AirAsia QZ8501 is the last plane tragedy that the world will experience in a really long time. My thoughts and prayers go out to the 162 passengers and crew on board the flight as well as to their families and loved ones.
